Ingredients
  

The Spirit Base
  • 2 oz Bourbon whiskey
  • 0.5 oz Banana liqueur
The Sour & Sweet
  • 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz Brown sugar simple syrup cooled
  • 1 large egg white or 1oz aquafaba
Garnish
  • 2 slices fresh banana
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup for drizzling
  • 2 dashes black walnut bitters

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Hawthorne Strainer
  • Fine Mesh Strainer
  • Rocks Glass

Method
 

  1. Combine bourbon, lemon juice, banana liqueur, syrup, and egg white in a shaker without ice.
  2. Dry shake vigorously for 15 seconds to create foam.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for 15 seconds until chilled.
  4. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh crushed ice.
  5. Top with banana slices and a heavy drizzle of maple syrup for a glossy finish.
  6. Finish with two dashes of walnut bitters over the foam.

Notes

Use a very ripe banana if muddling instead of using liqueur for extra sweetness.
