Ingredients
  

Cupcake Base
  • 2 boxes yellow cake mix plus ingredients on box
  • 6 eggs approximate for box mix
  • 1 cup vegetable oil approximate for box mix
  • 2 cups water approximate for box mix
Decoration
  • 3 cups vanilla buttercream frosting white
  • 2 cups graham crackers crushed into crumbs
  • 1 mini volleyball toy non-edible prop
  • 1 set DIY paper net and skewers

Equipment

  • Muffin Tin
  • Large rectangular platter
  • Mixing bowls
  • Offset spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tins with white paper liners.
  2. Prepare cake mix according to package directions in a large bowl.
  3. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. Arrange cooled cupcakes on a large rectangular platter in a 3x8 or 4x6 grid, touching each other.
  6. Spread vanilla frosting continuously over the top of the cupcakes to connect them.
  7. Sprinkle crushed graham crackers generously over the frosting to create the sand effect.
  8. Insert skewers with the paper net into the center cupcakes and place the ball prop on the court.

Notes

Ensure cupcakes are fully cool before frosting to prevent sliding.
