Ingredients
  

Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil toasted
  • 2 tbsps chili oil adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 stalks green onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds toasted

Method
 

  1. Finely mince the garlic and thinly slice the green onions.
  2. In a small dipping bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and rice vinegar.
  3. Add the honey to the liquid mixture and stir vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in the toasted sesame oil and chili oil, stirring gently to combine the rich colors.
  5. Fold in the minced garlic, chopped green onions, and sesame seeds.
  6. Allow the sauce to sit for 5-10 minutes at room temperature so the garlic flavors can bloom and meld with the liquids.
  7. Serve immediately alongside your favorite hot dumplings, potstickers, or gyoza.

Notes

Store the liquid base in the fridge for up to a month, but add fresh garlic and green onions right before serving for the best flavor. For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
