Ingredients

Pancake Batter
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1.25 cups milk any type
  • 1 egg large
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skillet or Griddle
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and melted butter together.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy; do not overmix.
  5. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
  6. Brown on both sides (flip when bubbles appear and pop on the surface) and serve hot.

Notes

Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking for even fluffier results. Do not press down on the pancakes with your spatula while they are cooking.
