Ingredients

Cocktail Layers
  • 1 oz Grenadine syrup Chilled
  • 3 oz Lemonade Cloudy style, chilled
  • 1.5 oz Lemon Vodka Chilled
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao Chilled
  • 1 cup Ice cubes Solid cubes, not crushed

Equipment

  • Tall Highball or Collins Glass
  • Bar Spoon
  • Jigger for measuring

Method

  1. Pour the grenadine directly into the bottom of a tall highball or Collins glass.
  2. Carefully fill the glass entirely to the top with solid ice cubes, being careful not to splash the grenadine up the sides.
  3. In a separate small glass, briefly mix together the lemonade and the lemon vodka.
  4. Hold a bar spoon upside down (back of the spoon facing up) inside the glass, just above the grenadine layer. Slowly pour the lemonade/vodka mixture over the back of the spoon so it gently layers on top of the red.
  5. Clean your spoon. Place the back of the spoon just above the white lemonade layer. Slowly pour the Blue Curacao over the back of the spoon so it rests on the top.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw. Instruct guests to stir the drink to combine the flavors before drinking.

Notes

The secret to perfect layers is pouring very slowly over the back of a spoon and making sure all your liquid ingredients are very cold before you start.
