Ingredients

Salad Base
  • 2-3 cups cucumbers sliced
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.33 cup bacon cooked and crumbled
Dressing and Seasoning
  • 0.5 cup ranch dressing or sour cream
  • 1 tsp dill optional
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
  • 1 pinch black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the cucumbers, then slice them into even rounds about 1/4-inch thick.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, shredded cheddar cheese, and cooked crumbled bacon.
  3. Pour the ranch dressing (or sour cream) over the cucumber mixture.
  4. Add the dill, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Gently toss all the ingredients together until the cucumbers are evenly coated with the dressing.
  6. Serve immediately for the best crunch, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

If making ahead of time, store the wet and dry ingredients separately to prevent the cucumbers from releasing too much water and making the salad soggy.
