Ingredients
  

Smoothie Base
  • 2 cups milk or plant-based milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice
  • 1 banana fresh or frozen
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes optional, for thickness
Optional Toppings
  • 1 dollop whipped cream chocolate or regular
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips mini or regular

Method
 

  1. Peel the banana. For a thicker smoothie, chop the banana and freeze for at least 2 hours prior to blending.
  2. Pour the milk into the blender first to ensure the blades can move freely.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, honey (or sweetener), and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the banana and ice cubes (if using).
  5. Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour into a tall glass. Top with whipped cream and chocolate chips if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

For a vegan version, use oat milk or almond milk and maple syrup instead of honey.
