  • 1 lb ground pork sausage hot or mild
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened, cubed
  • 20 oz diced tomatoes with green chilies 2 cans, undrained
Seasoning & Garnish
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking it into crumbles, until browned (approx 8-10 mins).
  2. Drain excess fat if desired, but leave a small amount for flavor.
  3. Add the undrained cans of tomatoes and green chilies to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add the cubed cream cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Stir constantly until the cream cheese is fully melted and blended into a smooth, creamy sauce.
  6. Simmer on low for 3-5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm with chips or veggies.

Notes

For a slow cooker version, brown the meat first, then add all ingredients to slow cooker on Low for 2 hours.
