Ingredients

Dough & Filling
  • 2 tubes refrigerated biscuit dough or 1lb pizza dough
  • 1 block mozzarella cheese cut into 1-inch cubes
Coating
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • 9-inch Round Pan or Cast Iron Skillet
  • Small Bowls
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously grease a 9-inch round pan or skillet with butter.
  2. Cut biscuit dough into halves or quarters. Flatten each piece into a disk.
  3. Place a cheese cube in the center of the dough, wrap securely, and roll into a smooth ball ensuring no gaps.
  4. In one bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. In another, mix panko, parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Dip each dough ball into the butter mixture, then roll in the panko mixture to coat evenly.
  6. Arrange the coated balls in the prepared pan. They can touch slightly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

Serve immediately while cheese is molten. Reheat in air fryer to maintain crispiness.
