Cocktail Ingredients
  • 2 oz RumChata chilled
  • 4 oz cherry soda chilled
  • 1 cup ice cubes solid, large cubes preferred
  • 1-2 maraschino cherries for garnish

Equipment

  • Can-shaped glass or Highball glass
  • Jigger or measuring glass
  • Bar spoon or straw for mixing

Method
 

  1. Fill a can-shaped glass or highball glass straight to the top with solid ice cubes.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of chilled RumChata directly over the ice.
  3. Top with 4 ounces of chilled cherry soda, pouring slowly.
  4. Using a long bar spoon or straw, gently stir the drink from bottom to top to combine the creamy liqueur with the soda without flattening the carbonation.
  5. Garnish with a bright red maraschino cherry and serve immediately while cold and fizzy.

Notes

Make sure both the soda and the RumChata are very cold before mixing to prevent the dairy cream from curdling in the acidic soda.
