A Southern classic bundt cake using Dr. Pepper soda to create an incredibly moist, spiced, and delicious dessert glazed to perfection.

Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding 3.4 oz
  • 4 eggs large
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 10 oz Dr. Pepper from can
  • 0.75 cup walnuts chopped
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp Dr. Pepper enough for thin glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a bundt pan thoroughly with shortening and flour or baking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, mix yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding, eggs, oil, and 10 oz of Dr. Pepper together.
  4. Beat until smooth, then fold in chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour mixture into the prepared bundt pan.
  6. Bake for one hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow cake to cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the glaze: Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough Dr. Pepper to create a thin, pourable consistency.
  9. After cake cools, pour glaze over the top and serve.

Notes

Ensure you grease the bundt pan very well to prevent sticking. You can substitute walnuts with pecans if preferred.
