Ingredients

Liquid Base
  • 4 oz citrus vodka or watermelon vodka
  • 2 oz watermelon pucker or pink lemonade concentrate
  • 2 oz sweet and sour mix
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • 2 oz lemon-lime soda for topping
Rim & Garnish
  • 3 tbsp pink coarse sanding sugar
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup or lemon wedge
  • 1 fresh kiwi peeled and sliced thin
  • 2 fresh strawberries cut into small wedges
  • 1 cup ice cubes for shaking

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Shot Glasses
  • Small saucers
  • Paring knife

Method

  1. Pour simple syrup onto one small saucer and pink sanding sugar onto another.
  2. Dip the rim of each shot glass into the syrup, then immediately into the pink sugar to form a thick crust. Set aside.
  3. Peel and thinly slice the kiwi into half-moons. Cut the strawberries into small wedges for garnishing.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add the citrus vodka, watermelon pucker, sweet and sour mix, and grenadine.
  5. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty and the liquid is thoroughly chilled.
  6. Strain the pink mixture evenly into the prepared shot glasses, filling them 3/4 full.
  7. Top off each shot glass with a quick splash of lemon-lime soda.
  8. Gently float a slice of kiwi and a piece of strawberry on top of each shot. Serve immediately.

Notes

To make a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka and pucker with cranberry juice and extra pink lemonade.
