Ingredients
  

Main Components
  • 15 oz slider buns brioche or Hawaiian
  • 1.5 lb deli roast beef thinly sliced
  • 0.5 lb Swiss cheese sliced
Onion Mixture
  • 3 cups yellow onion sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tsp thyme leaves fresh
  • 0.5 tsp granulated sugar
Glaze and Dip
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tsp garlic grated
  • 10.5 oz French onion soup canned
  • 1 oz Au Jus mix powdered

Method
 

  1. Sauté sliced onions in 3 tbsp butter with sugar, salt, and pepper for 20 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Stir in thyme and half the garlic during the last minute of onion cooking.
  3. Slice the slab of slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom half in a baking dish.
  4. Layer roast beef, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese slices over the bottom buns.
  5. Place the top buns on and brush with a mixture of melted butter and remaining garlic.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, then uncovered for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Heat the French onion soup and au jus mix in a pan to serve as a dipping sauce.

Notes

Ensure the beef is thinly sliced for the best texture. Use high-quality Swiss cheese for better melting.
