Ingredients
  

Noodle Base
  • 1 pack instant ramen noodles discard seasoning packet
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic jarred or fresh
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
The Sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 tsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp pasta water reserved from boiling noodles
Toppings
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Everything Bagel Seasoning

Equipment

  • Small pot for boiling
  • Non-stick skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs or Spatula
  • Colander

Method
 

  1. Boil water in a small pot. Add ramen noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes (al dente). Reserve 1 tbsp water, then drain.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar until sugar dissolves and sauce bubbles.
  4. Add drained noodles (and reserved water) to the pan. Toss well to coat noodles in the glaze.
  5. Push noodles to the side of the pan. Crack egg into the empty space and fry until white is set but yolk is runny.
  6. Remove from heat. Top with Everything Bagel seasoning and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra richness, add a drizzle of sesame oil at the end.
