Ingredients
  

Milkshake Base
  • 3 scoops vanilla bean ice cream premium quality
  • 0.5 cup whole milk very cold
  • 1 tbsp molasses unsulphured
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.125 tsp ground cloves
Decoration & Garnish
  • 2 tbsp caramel sauce salted is best
  • 2 gingerbread cookies crushed for rim
  • 1 cup whipped cream for topping
  • 1 mini gingerbread man for garnish

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Stemless glass
  • Small plates for rimming

Method
 

  1. Dip the rim of a glass into caramel sauce, then into crushed gingerbread cookies to coat.
  2. Drizzle caramel sauce inside the glass in a swirling motion and place in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, molasses, and all spices.
  4. Blend until smooth and thick, being careful not to over-process.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared chilled glass.
  6. Top generously with whipped cream and place a gingerbread man cookie on top.
  7. Add a candy cane or peppermint stick and serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker shake, use less milk. For a boozy version, replace 1/4 cup milk with bourbon or rum.
