Ingredients

The Roll-Ups
  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough or crescent sheets approx 13.8 oz
  • 8 slices deli ham honey or black forest
  • 8 sticks string cheese or Swiss cheese cut into batons
The Glaze
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp dried onion flakes optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pastry brush
  • Small mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the dough onto a flat surface. If using crescent rolls, pinch seams together. Cut dough into 8 even rectangular strips.
  3. Place a cheese stick at the edge of a slice of ham and roll the ham around the cheese.
  4. Take a strip of dough and wrap it spirally around the ham-wrapped cheese. Pinch ends to seal.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, poppy seeds, and onion flakes.
  6. Brush the glaze generously over the tops and sides of the prepared sticks.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
