Ingredients
  

Punch Base
  • 1 gallon Green Hawaiian Punch chilled
  • 46 oz pineapple juice chilled
  • 2 liters lemon lime soda Sprite or 7-Up
  • 1 quart lime sherbet
Garnish
  • 0.25 cup red sanding sugar for rimming
  • 1 lime cut into wedges

Equipment

  • Large punch bowl or pitcher
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Small shallow bowls for rimming
  • Long stirring spoon

Method
 

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each serving glass and dip into red sanding sugar to coat.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine the green Hawaiian punch and pineapple juice. Stir gently.
  3. Slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda to keep the carbonation active.
  4. Using an ice cream scoop, add dollops of lime sherbet to the top of the punch bowl.
  5. Ladle the punch into the prepared glasses, making sure each glass gets some foam from the sherbet.
  6. Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.

Notes

For a colder drink without dilution, freeze some of the punch in ice cube trays ahead of time.
