Homemade Strawberry Banana Dog Treats

Ingredients
  

Treat Base
  • 2 cups oat flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1 banana large, ripe and mashed
  • 1 cup strawberries finely chopped
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp coconut oil optional, for shine

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie cutters (Paw/Bone)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and coconut oil (if using) to the banana and mix until combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped strawberries.
  5. Gradually add the oat flour, mixing until a dough forms. If sticky, add a little more flour.
  6. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Cut shapes using cookie cutters and place on baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. For crunchier treats, turn oven off and let sit inside.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
