Ingredients

Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast boneless skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil vegetable or canola
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Sauce & Garnish
  • 0.25 cup honey approx 80g
  • 60 ml soy sauce approx 1/4 cup
  • 0.25 cup garlic minced (about 1 bulb)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef's Knife
  • Measuring cups

Method

  1. Cut the chicken breast into uniform 1-inch cubes. Season generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer (do not crowd pan).
  3. Sear chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and almost cooked through.
  4. Lower heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in soy sauce and honey. Stir well to combine with the chicken and garlic.
  6. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously, until the sauce reduces and becomes a thick, sticky glaze.
  7. Remove from heat. Top with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  8. Serve immediately over rice or vegetables.

Notes

Be careful not to burn the garlic before adding the liquids. If the sauce gets too thick, add a splash of water.
