- Wash the iceberg lettuce leaves carefully and pat them completely dry with a paper towel. Moisture will make the wrap soggy.
- Lay down a piece of parchment paper. Arrange the lettuce leaves overlapping in the center to create a large circular base.
- Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the center of the lettuce leaves, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
- Layer the sliced turkey evenly over the mayonnaise, followed by the slices of cheddar cheese.
- Place the tomato slices on top of the cheese and season lightly with salt and pepper. Add the crispy bacon strips on top.
- Fold the bottom edge of the lettuce up over the fillings, then fold the sides inward. Roll tightly upwards like a burrito.
- Secure the wrap by pushing 2 to 3 wooden toothpicks through the top. Use a sharp knife to slice the sandwich in half between the toothpicks.
- Serve immediately while cold and crisp.
Notes
To pack for lunch, wrap the uncut lettuce roll tightly in a dry paper towel, then wrap in parchment paper or foil to keep it crisp.
