Ingredients

Fruit Turtle Components
  • 3 large kiwi fruits peeled
  • 1 bunch green grapes washed and dried
  • 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips for eyes
  • 1 tsp honey or yogurt optional, to use as edible glue

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Paring knife
  • Serving Platter
  • Toothpicks (optional)

Method

  1. Wash and completely dry the green grapes. Peel the kiwis.
  2. Slice the peeled kiwis crosswise into thick rounds (about 1/2 inch thick). These are the turtle shells.
  3. Place the kiwi slices flat on a serving platter.
  4. Select one whole green grape per kiwi slice and place it at the top to act as the head.
  5. Cut smaller green grapes in half lengthwise. Arrange four halves around each kiwi slice for the legs, cut side down.
  6. To attach the eyes, use a tiny dab of honey or yogurt on the flat side of two mini chocolate chips and stick them onto the whole grape head.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy fruit creations!

Notes

Make sure your grapes are completely dry before trying to attach the chocolate chip eyes, otherwise they will slide right off.
