- Crush the vanilla wafers into fine crumbs using a food processor or a rolling pin and a sturdy bag.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the wafer crumbs, powdered sugar, and fresh lime zest.
- Add the tequila, corn syrup, lime juice, and orange liqueur to the dry mixture.
- Stir everything together until a thick, cohesive dough forms.
- Scoop out 1-tablespoon portions of dough and roll them into smooth, round balls between your hands.
- Place the coarse sugar in a shallow dish and roll each ball in the sugar until generously coated.
- Place the balls in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Must be stored in the refrigerator. Use coarse sanding sugar, not regular granulated, for the best visual crunch.
