Ingredients

Dough
  • 2.5 cups whole wheat flour or oat flour
  • 1 banana large, ripe and mashed
  • 0.5 cup natural peanut butter xylitol-free
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tbsp water optional, if needed for texture
  • 1 pinch cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Fork

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the banana thoroughly. Add peanut butter and egg, mixing until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a stiff dough forms. Use hands to knead if necessary.
  4. Pinch off small pieces of dough, roll into ropes, fold in half, and twist to create the shape.
  5. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and firm.
  6. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack to harden before serving.

Notes

Ensure your peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
