Ingredients

Pineapple Layer
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup pineapple juice or water
  • 1 tbsp honey optional
Strawberry Layer
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup apple juice or water
  • 1 tbsp honey optional

Equipment

  • High-powered blender
  • Tall clear glasses
  • Wide straws

Method

  1. In a blender, combine the frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and honey. Blend until smooth and thick. Transfer to a container and set in the freezer temporarily.
  2. Rinse the blender jar.
  3. Add the frozen strawberries, apple juice, and honey to the blender. Blend until smooth and thick.
  4. In tall, clear glasses, alternate spoonfuls of the pineapple mixture and the strawberry mixture until full.
  5. Gently drag a straw or long spoon through the layers to create a swirled effect. Serve immediately.

Notes

Using frozen fruit instead of ice is essential for a thick, non-watery slushie. If your blender is struggling, let the fruit sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before blending.
