Pink Starburst Shots

A fun, nostalgic party shot that tastes exactly like a pink fruit chew candy. Made with strawberry gelatin, vodka, peach schnapps, and fruit juices.

Ingredients
  

Jello Base
  • 1 box (3oz) Strawberry or Watermelon Jell-O Pink color is essential
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 0.5 cup cold water
Alcohol Mix
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz peach schnapps
  • 1 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
Garnish
  • 12 Pink Starburst candies unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp sanding sugar pink or white

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Plastic shot cups (2oz)
  • Baking sheet

Method
 

  1. Arrange plastic shot cups on a baking sheet. Optional: Dip rims in syrup and sugar.
  2. In a large bowl, mix boiling water and Jell-O powder. Whisk for 2 minutes until fully dissolved.
  3. In a separate cup, combine vodka, schnapps, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and cold water.
  4. Pour the cold alcohol mixture into the hot gelatin mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Pour mixture into shot cups, filling about 3/4 full.
  6. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until firmly set.
  7. Top each shot with a pink Starburst candy just before serving.

Notes

Do not freeze the shots to speed up setting; this ruins the texture. Keep refrigerated until serving.
