Ingredients
  

Base
  • 48 square pretzels (snaps) waffle style
  • 24 soft caramel candies unwrapped
Coating
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil optional, for shine
  • 1 tbsp coarse sea salt for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F (95°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange 24 pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place one unwrapped caramel square on top of each pretzel.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 4-5 minutes, until caramel is soft but not melting.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately press a second pretzel on top of each caramel to create a sandwich. Let cool completely.
  6. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
  7. Dip each pretzel sandwich halfway into the chocolate, then place back on parchment paper.
  8. Sprinkle immediately with sea salt before the chocolate sets.

Notes

Ensure the caramels are soft store-bought squares. Hard candies will not work.
