Sheet Pan Tacos

Crispy, cheesy, and incredibly easy oven-baked tacos perfect for feeding a crowd. Seasoned beef and melted cheddar inside golden toasted tortillas.

Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade blend
  • 0.66 cup water
  • 1 small onion diced (optional)
Assembly
  • 10-12 flour tortillas soft taco size
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
  • sour cream for serving
  • salsa for serving

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pastry brush

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and onion until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in water and taco seasoning. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  4. Lay tortillas flat on the prepared baking sheet. Place a scoop of beef mixture on one half of each tortilla.
  5. Top the beef generously with shredded cheese. Fold the other half of the tortilla over to close.
  6. Brush the tops of the tortillas lightly with oil or melted butter to ensure crispiness.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tortillas are golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, and fresh cilantro.

Notes

For extra spice, add jalapeños inside the tacos before baking.
