- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Lay out a wonton wrapper flat. Place 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture in the center.
- Add a small dab (about 1/4 tsp) of strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese mixture.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten all four edges of the wrapper.
- Bring opposite corners together to meet in the middle and pinch tightly to seal, pushing out air pockets. Seal the side seams to create a star shape.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry wontons in small batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack.
- Warm remaining strawberry jam with a splash of water for dipping sauce and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure you squeeze out all air pockets before sealing to prevent bursting. Do not use whipped cream cheese.
