Ingredients

Salmon
  • 2 salmon fillets 6 oz each
Honey Soy Glaze
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 lemon wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Basting brush

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with a paper towel and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spoon or brush about two-thirds of the glaze mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillets, reserving the rest.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Optional: For a sticky, caramelized crust, brush the remaining glaze over the baked salmon and broil on high for 1-2 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Patting the salmon completely dry ensures the glaze sticks properly and helps it roast instead of steam. To store leftovers, place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently in the oven.
