Ingredients

Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon (approx. 6oz each) skin-on or skinless
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 4 slices lemon for serving

Equipment

  • Baking Dish (9x13)
  • Small Saucepan
  • Pastry brush
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and arrange them in the baking dish, skin-side down if using skin-on fish.
  3. In a small bowl or saucepan, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, oregano, dried parsley, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Whisk well.
  4. Pour about 2/3 of the butter mixture over the salmon fillets. Use a brush to coat them evenly.
  5. Season the fillets generously with salt and fresh black pepper.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temp should reach 145°F).
  7. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle the remaining butter sauce over the hot fish.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon slices.

Notes

Ensure your butter is not too hot when mixing with lemon juice to prevent separation. Serve with seasoned rice or steamed vegetables.
