The Aurora Cocktail

A visually stunning, layered gradient cocktail featuring vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry, and orange juice, finished with a spectacular edible pink glitter rim.

Ingredients
  

Cocktail Base
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz peach schnapps
  • 1 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz orange juice pulp-free preferred
Garnish and Rim
  • 1 tbsp edible pink glitter for rimming
  • 1 slice orange half wheel
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • 1 edible pink flower optional, for presentation

Equipment

  • Rocks Glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar Spoon
  • Small Plate

Method
 

  1. Pour the edible pink glitter onto a small plate. Rub an orange wedge around the rim of your rocks glass to wet it, then dip the rim into the glitter to coat it evenly.
  2. Carefully fill the glitter-rimmed glass with clear ice cubes.
  3. Pour the cranberry juice directly into the bottom of the glass.
  4. Slowly pour the orange juice over the back of a bar spoon to float it on top of the cranberry juice layer.
  5. In a separate small glass, mix the vodka and peach schnapps together.
  6. Using the same bar spoon technique, slowly pour the vodka and schnapps mixture on top of the orange juice.
  7. Garnish delicately with an orange slice, a maraschino cherry, and an edible pink flower resting on the ice. Stir before drinking.

Notes

To achieve the best layers, pour the liquids slowly and carefully over the back of a spoon. Remember to instruct guests to stir the drink to mix the flavors before sipping!
