Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter plus extra for greasing
  • 16 oz mini marshmallows divided use
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 20 Oreo cookies roughly crushed, divided
  • 0.25 tsp sea salt

  • 9x9 Baking Pan
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Prepare a 9x9 inch pan by lining with parchment paper and lightly greasing.
  2. Crush 15 Oreos into chunks; break remaining 5 into larger pieces for topping.
  3. Melt butter in a large pot over low heat.
  4. Reserve 2 cups of marshmallows. Add the rest to the butter and melt, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt.
  6. Fold in cereal until coated.
  7. Fold in crushed Oreos and the reserved 2 cups of marshmallows.
  8. Gently press mixture into the pan (do not pack tight). Top with remaining Oreo pieces.
  9. Cool at room temperature for 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture. Stale ones make hard treats.
