Ingredients

Smoothie Base
  • 1.5 cups frozen strawberries completely frozen solid
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder approx 30g
  • 1 tbsp almond butter creamy, unsweetened
  • 0.25 cup almond milk unsweetened, add more only if needed
The Swirl
  • 0.25 cup coconut milk yogurt thick, unsweetened

Equipment

  • High-speed blender with tamper
  • Aesthetic clear drinking glass
  • Glass straw

Method

  1. Take your clear drinking glass and use a spoon to smear the thick coconut milk yogurt in a cloud-like pattern around the inside walls. Place the glass in the freezer while you blend.
  2. Add the frozen strawberries, vanilla protein powder, almond butter, and almond milk to a high-speed blender.
  3. Start blending on low speed. Use a tamper to push the frozen fruit down into the blades. Only add a tiny splash more milk if absolutely necessary.
  4. Increase speed gradually and blend until the mixture becomes a very thick, smooth, soft-serve consistency.
  5. Remove the prepared glass from the freezer. Spoon or carefully pour the thick strawberry smoothie into the center of the glass, allowing the yogurt swirls to show on the edges.
  6. Add a glass straw and enjoy immediately!

Notes

A high-speed blender with a tamper is highly recommended to achieve the thick soft-serve texture without adding too much liquid.
