Ingredients

Sandwich Components
  • 4 slices whole wheat seeded bread toasted
  • 8 oz deli-sliced roasted turkey breast thinly sliced
  • 6 strips thick-cut bacon cooked and crispy
  • 1 large avocado sliced
  • 1 cup alfalfa sprouts fresh
  • 4 tbsp cream cheese or mayonnaise softened
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly cracked
  • 0.25 tsp sea salt

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Toaster
  • Serrated Bread Knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Bake the bacon strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  2. Lightly toast all four slices of the seeded whole wheat bread and let them cool for one minute.
  3. Spread the cream cheese or mayonnaise generously and evenly over one side of each toasted bread slice.
  4. On the bottom two slices, arrange the avocado slices in an even layer. Season with sea salt and black pepper.
  5. Gently fold the thinly sliced turkey and layer it over the seasoned avocado.
  6. Break the cooked bacon strips in half to fit the bread and lay them on top of the turkey.
  7. Pile a generous amount of fresh alfalfa sprouts on top of the bacon.
  8. Top with the remaining slices of bread, spread side down. Press gently, cut in half with a serrated knife, and serve immediately.

Notes

Fold your deli meat rather than laying it flat to give the sandwich a much better, lighter texture.
