Ingredients

Base
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened to room temp
  • 1 cup mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded, divided
  • 10 slices bacon cooked crispy and crumbled
  • 0.5 cup green onions chopped
Serving
  • 1 box buttery round crackers Ritz style

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking dish or Pie plate
  • Hand Mixer
  • Frying Pan

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate or baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in mayonnaise (or sour cream), garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Fold in the crumbled bacon, chopped green onions (reserve some green tops for garnish), and 1.5 cups of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Top with the remaining 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden. Broil for 1-2 minutes for extra color if desired.
  8. Garnish with reserved green onions and serve warm with crackers.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Freshly grated cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
